Legal bases for processing (for EEA users): If you are an individual in the European Economic Area (EEA), we collect and process information about you only when we have the legal grounds to do so under applicable European laws. The legal grounds depend on the Services you use and how you use them. This means that we collect and use your information only in the following cases:
– We need it to provide the Services to you, including operating the Services, providing customer support and personalised features, and ensuring the security and safety of the Services;
– It counts as a legitimate interest (which is not overridden by your data protection interests), e.g. research and development, marketing and promoting the Services, and protecting our legal rights and interests;
– You give us your consent to do this for a specific purpose; or
– We need to process your data to comply with a legal obligation.
If you have consented to using information about you for a specific purpose, you have the right to change your mind at any time, but this will not affect any processing that has already taken place. Where we use your information because there is a legitimate interest for us or a third party in doing so, you have the right to object to that use although in some cases this may mean you can no longer use the Services.
Why do we share the information we collect?
We provide IT solutions and hardware, and we want them to work properly for you. This means sharing information through the Services and with certain third parties. We use the process described below to share the information we collect about you. This will include sharing information within the context of potential business transfers. However, we do not sell information about you to advertisers or other third parties.
Sharing the service with other users: When you use the services, we share certain elements of information about you with other users of the service.
Managed accounts and administrators: If you sign up for or access the Services using an email address with a domain owned by your employer or organisation, or if you associate this email address with your existing account, this organisation is deemed to have established a GDP Emballages account. Your name, contact details, content and use of the account may become available to our services and to other users of the GDP Emballages service, authorised to supply you with additional products and services, or to integrate your GDP Emballages services or other products and services. For example, your organisation may request that we provide additional security controls on your account to protect the information about your organisation and improve the collaboration and functionality of the products you use. If you are the direct point of contact for a board of directors, team, business or business account that is part of your services, we may share your contact information with current or past associates of our Services, for the purpose of facilitating requests related to our Services.

Under no circumstances shall your data be kept or used by these third parties for any other purpose than that of GDP Emballages.
Service providers: We work with third-party service providers in the area of website and social media development, web hosting, maintenance, backup, storage, virtual infrastructure, payment processing, analytics and other services. If a service provider needs access to information about you to perform services on our behalf, they do so according to our instructions, which will include following certain rules and procedures designed to protect your information.
Links to third-party sites: The Services may include links that direct you to other sites or services whose privacy policy may be different from ours. Your use of any of these third-party sites and any information you submit to them is governed by their privacy policies, not this one.
Third-party widgets: Some of our Services contain social media widgets and features, e.g. the LinkedIn and Facebook buttons. These widgets and features collect your IP address, the page you are visiting on the Services, and may place a cookie on your computer to enable this feature to function properly. Social media widgets and features are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Services. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them.
With your consent: We share information about you with third parties when you authorise us to do so. For example, we often post customer success stories on our website and social media. With your consent, we may or may not display your name next to the customer case.
Compliance with enforcement requests and applicable laws; The application of our rights: In exceptional circumstances, we may share information about you with a third party if we believe it is necessary and there is good reason to share it for the following purposes: (a) to comply with any law, regulation, legal process or government request, including to meet national security requirements; (b) to protect the security or integrity of our products and services, (c) to protect GDP Emballages, our customers, or the general public from harm or illegal activity, or (d) to respond to an emergency for which we believe, in good faith, that the information must be disclosed to help prevent death or serious physical injury to any person. For more information on how we respond to government requests, see our Commitments and CSR.
Business transfers
We may share or transfer information we collect under this privacy policy within the context of any merger, sale of assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of the GDP Emballages business with another company. You will be notified by email and/or a prominent notice on the Services if a transaction occurs, along with any choices you may have concerning your information.
How do we store and ensure the security of the information we collect?
Information storage and security
We use service providers that have technical facilities to ensure the security of your data. Although we implement safeguards designed to protect your information, no security system is impenetrable and, due to the inherent nature of the internet, we cannot guarantee that the data transmitted over the internet, or stored on our systems or under our control, are safe from intrusion by others. We will respond to inquiries about this in a timely manner.
How long do we keep the information for?
How long we retain the information we collect about you depends on the type of information. This is described in more detail below. After this time, we will delete or anonymise your information or, if this is not possible (e.g. because the information has been stored in backup archives), we will keep your information in a secure location and isolate it from any later use until it can be deleted.
How can you access and control your information?
There are a certain number of options available to you regarding the processing of your information. Here is a summary of these options, how to exercise them and their limits. We will respond to inquiries about this in a timely manner.
Your options:
You have the right to request a copy of your information, object to our use of your information (including for marketing purposes), request its deletion or the restriction of your information, or request your information in a structured electronic format. Below, we set out the tools and processes for making these requests. You may exercise certain options with respect to the Services by contacting us directly as set out in the Contact Us section below for requesting assistance.
Your request and your options may be limited in some cases: for example, if your request would reveal information about another person, or if you ask to delete information which we are permitted by law or have legitimate interests to keep. Where you have instructed us to share data with third parties, you will need to contact those third party service providers directly to delete or restrict your information. If you have unresolved issues, you may have the right to complain to a data protection authority in the country where you live, where you work, or where you believe your rights have been violated.
– Access, and update or delete your information: Our Services and the related documentation give you the ability to access and update certain information about you using the Service. You can do this by contacting our staff directly about the matter and they will perform the relevant update. We may delete some information about you. Please note, however, that we may need to retain certain information for record-keeping purposes, to complete transactions or to comply with our legal obligations.
– Request that we stop using your information: In some cases, you can ask us to stop accessing, storing, using and processing your information when you believe we do not have the appropriate rights to do so. For example, if you believe that a Service was created for you without your authorisation or if you are no longer an active user, you can request that we delete your account as set out in this policy. When you have given us your consent to use your information for a restricted purpose, you can contact us to withdraw this consent, but this will no effect on any processing that has already taken place at that time. You can also opt out of our using your information for marketing purposes by contacting us as set out below. When you make such requests, we may need time to investigate and fulfil your request. In the event of a delay or dispute over the right to continue using your information, we will limit further use of your information until the request is fulfilled or the dispute is resolved, provided your administrator does not object (if necessary).
– Disable communications: You can opt out of receiving promotional communications from us by using the unsubscribe link in each email or by contacting us to delete your contact details from the promotional email list or registration database. Even after you opt out of receiving promotional messages from us, you will continue to receive transactional messages from us regarding our Services. Please note that you will continue to receive generic ads.
– Sending “Do Not Track” signals: Some browsers have built in “Do Not Track” (DNT) features that can send a signal to the websites you visit notifying them that you do not want to be tracked. Because there is not yet a common understanding of how to interpret the DNT signal, our services do not currently respond to DNT signals from browsers. You can use the range of other tools we provide to control data collection and use, including the ability to opt out of receiving marketing from us, as described above.
Data portability: Data portability is the ability to obtain some of your information in a format that you can pass on from one service provider to another (e.g. when you transfer your mobile number to another provider).
